London based illustrator Chris Haughton has a fab style that caught my eye immediately! it is graphic and colourful, with little quirky characters and monkeys, which I love. He is in the Times list over the 100 most influential people in the design business at the moment, accompanied by Ron Arad and Paul Smith amongst others.

Professor Fletcher's invention of the CellScope, which is a Nokia device with a microscope attachment, was the inspiration for a teeny-tiny film created by Sumo Science at Aardman. It stars a 9mm girl called Dot as she struggles through a microscopic world. All the minuscule detail was shot using CellScope technology and a Nokia N8, with its 12 megapixel camera and Carl Zeiss optics.

Im not a big fan of pastels. I found this Micasa home and I now think lavender is not that bad. I kind of like it especially with all the grey walls. Maybe you'll change your mind about using pastels when you see the wonderful photos below.

Vivid portraits by Françoise Nielly

Françoise Nielly’s massive, colorful portraits are delicious to look at. She paints her vivid, passionate canvases — some as large as 195 x 62 cm (78 x 25 inches) -- from black-and-white photos, further proof of her unfailing ability to interpret light, shadow, hue and tone by applying brilliant colors and daring strokes.

Cipria by Fernando and Humberto Campana

Brazilian designers Fernando and Humberto Campana have designed Cipria, a fake fur-covered sofa, for Italian brand Edra. The settee has 9 cushions fixed to an invisible metal tube frame. The stuffing is Gellyfoam and Dacron wadding while the ecological fur covering comes in different hair lengths to produce variations on the original theme.
I don't enjoy much of what they do and would have to say I find this to be among their more tolerable pieces.

It is a layered cardboard pod to make a cat playhouse. Either your cat will go nuts for this Cat Cocoon or will completely ignore it altogether. If I were a cat, I would certainly dig this thing with its variously sized peepholes.
